Our Story
It started with a simple lemonade stand. My kids spent hours making fresh lemonade, setting up their stand, and creating colorful signs. They were so excited to earn their first dollars. But customer after customer walked by, interested but unable to buy. "Sorry, I don't have any cash on me," became the phrase of the day. Their enthusiasm turned to disappointment as potential sales walked away.
This wasn't just happening to my kids. At farmers markets, vendors were losing sales. Service workers were missing out on tips. Small businesses were turning away customers. All because of the same problem: in a cashless society, accepting payments had become unnecessarily complicated.
That's when we realized: in an age where our phones can do almost anything, why do we still need separate devices to accept payments? Why can't your phone be your payment terminal? Why should a child's entrepreneurial spirit be dampened by payment processing complexity?
BerriPay was created to solve this problem. We partnered with Stripe to bring tap-to-pay technology directly to your iPhone or Android device. No dongles, no card readers, no monthly fees.
